Richard Larsom and Ann Whiting Kidner

Richard Larsom was born 25 April 1791 on Norfolk Island and died 13 July 1849 in Ralphs Bay, Tasmania.   Richard's father was a Seaman on "Lady Juliana", the convict ship Ann Brooks was transported to Port Jackson on.

Ann Whiting Kidner who was born 1 October 1798 on Norfolk Island and died 18 January 1854 in Clarence Plains, Tasmania.  Richard Larsom married Ann Whiting Kidner on 24 February 1812 in Hobart. Ann was 14 years of age.    They settled on 40 acres in Glouster near Sorell. 

Together they had 8 children: 
1. Mary Anne Larsom (22 March 1813-4 November 1850), married Samuel Pearson.
2. Richard Larsom (6 April 1816-10 October 1853).
3. Jemima Louisa Larsom (24 November 1818-6 August 1891), married George Bellett.
4. Elizabeth Larsom (25 April 1821-24 May 1878).
5. Jane Larsom (30 April 1824-18 June 1864) married John (Joseph) Green.
6. Sarah Diana Larsom (8 April 1828-8 June 1874), married Samuel Joseph.
7. Ann Larsom (2 December 1830-25 February 1873).
8. Grace Larsom (13 March 1832-15 December 1875).

Jemima Larsom married George Bellett (1812-1885) and together they had 12 children.
The Bellett, Larsom, Morrisby, Alomes, Calvert, Macdougall families were related by marriages by the next generation or two.

Sarah Diana Larsom married Samuel Joseph (1825-1905) and together they had 7 children.
After Sarah died in 1874, Samuel married Susanna Langford Smith (1840-1922) and together they had 2 children. Susanna had a previous marriage to James G.Steele (1825-1875) and together they had 6 children.

Susanna Langford Smith's parents were Henry Laporte Smith (1792-1877) and Maria Langford (1804-1841). Henry Laporte Smith was convicted in 1841 and transported to Tasmania.
Maria Langford and Henry Laporte Smith together had 8 children including Susanna and Henrietta Smith. (Refer to Henry Smith & Henrietta Smith Blog).

Henrietta Smith (1832-1898) married Henry Smith (1823-1910).  Henry Smith's parents were George August Smith (1778-1858) & Grace Morrisby (1797-1827).  Grace's parents were James Morrisby (1756-1839) & Ann Brooks (1762-1813).  Ann gave birth to Richard Larsom on 25 April 1791, soon after she arrived on Norfolk Island.

Richard Larsom & Grace (Morrisby) Smith were step-siblings of James Morrisby & Ann Brooks. Samuel Joseph, the widower of Richard Larsom's daughter Sarah Larsom  married  Susanna Langford Smith.  Grace Smith's son Henry Smith married Henrietta Smith, sister of Susanna Langford Smith.

Richard Larsom (1791-1849) and Ann Whiting Kidner (1798-1854) are buried at St Matthew's Anglican Cemetery, Rokeby, Tasmania.

Richard Larsom, son of Ann Brooks was relocated to Van Diemen's Land.
